1. How do I make a booking for a scenic flight?
We work with various voucher websites such as Red Balloon, Adrenalin, Groupon, Scoopon, Living Social, deals.com and Our Deal that sell our Scenic flights. You can directly visit their websites and purchase a voucher/s.Then the next step is easy… We are just a phone call away from making this experience happen for you! All you need to do is call and provide us with basic details that are asked and it will be all booked in for you! We recommend booking a week or two in advance, as we can get booked out very quickly.
2. What happens if the weather is bad on the day of your flight?
If the weather is an issue, we will contact you in advance and prior to your flight to discuss alternative options. If you wish, before you leave home you may ring our office to confirm your flight. Flights can still commence in hazy and cloudy weather, light rain and light to medium wind conditions where flight safety is not undermined. However, we would like you to have the best experience possible and would take preference to do your flight on a nice and sunny day. If your flight is cancelled for any reason, we will try our very best to meet the needs of your requirements and availability when re-booking your flight. 3. What happens if I cancel or my flight doesn’t go ahead, can I receive a refund?
If for some reason, your flight is cancelled by us you will not be eligible to a refund as your voucher is through a voucher website, if you would like a refund and have purchased from a voucher website you would have to contact the service provider. If you cancel your flight within 24 hours of the flight booking date you are not entitled to a refund and your voucher will be voided. However, if you have a gift voucher from V2 Helicopters that is still within the 6 month expiry and you have an exceptional reason to postpone or reschedule your flight then we will be lenient with re-booking your flight. If you have purchased directly from V2 Helicopters and have paid a 25% deposit with us, that is non-refundable. However, the rest of the full payment will be refunded to you.
4. What days are scenic flights conducted?
We conduct our scenic flights on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. If you would like to book in a CBD Twilight Flight we can also conduct these on Monday and Friday afternoons as well as the weekend.
5. What’s the minimum age for flying in a helicopter?
There is no minimum age for a shared scenic flight. Infants under the age of 3 must sit on their parent’s lap. If the child is under 3 years of age the person who they are sitting with must be no more than 77 kg including the infant’s weight.
6. Why are precise weights important on a scenic flight?
Helicopters function with the stability of fuel weight and total passenger weights. Our pilots at V2 organise their day accordingly with the weights you provide. If the correct weight is not provided or you are over the weight limit, based on everyone’s weights we may not be able to conduct the flight for safety reasons and for each passenger’s well-being.
7. Can I use my camera, go-pro or phone during the flight?
Unfortunately not, the use of mobile phones may cause Electromagnetic interference which may effect the aircraft radio equipment. We do offer all passengers a full HD video of their flight available on a memory card for only $39.
