In order to muster cattle with a helicopter you must have completed a course in low flying and then a 10 hour course by an approved mustering pilot. You will be sent out with an approved mustering pilot and over the course of 10 hours your instructor will convey the skills required to muster cattle.
Our chief pilot Ken Amess has over 13 years experience in the mustering industry and has trained over 200 pilots in his instructing career. Ken is known as one of the best mustering pilots and delivers excellent training to prepare you for your career as a mustering pilot.
Normally conducted in a Robinson R22
Usually 10 hours flying time over 1 week
Over 13 years experience in the mustering industry
Must hold a valid Australian PPL licence or higher
Must have completed 5 hours of low flying training prior to commencing the mustering training
Must also have a minimum of 100 hours of pilot in command time prior to commencing the training
