THE ORIGINAL. STILL THE BENCHMARK.

The Bell 206 JetRanger. Four seats. One legend.

The world’s most iconic light turbine helicopter — flying in the V2 Helicopters fleet at Archerfield. Four passengers, turbine-smooth performance, and more than half a century of proven heritage. The perfect step up from piston into the world of turbine charter and scenic flight.

ONE MORE SEAT, A WHOLE NEW AIRCRAFT CLASS

Room for four passengers. Turbine smooth. No compromise.

The JetRanger is the sweet spot of the V2 fleet — the aircraft chosen when you need more than a four-seat piston but don’t yet need the full capability of the H125. It carries the whole family, the full dinner-party crew, or a professional photography team with gear to spare.

4 — passengers in a refined turbine cabin. Enough for the whole family, the full bridal party or the creative team, with the quiet ride only a turbine delivers.

  • Families of four — parents and two kids in one helicopter, no-one left behind.
  • Couples + friends — two couples sharing a sunset flight, birthday or anniversary together.
  • Small corporate transfers — a director plus three key clients, straight to the resort or conference venue.
  • Media and photography crews — pilot, cinematographer, director and assistant — all in one aircraft, one setup.
  • First-time turbine experiences — the most affordable way to feel the smoothness of turbine flight in Brisbane.

WHERE THE JETRANGER SITS IN OUR FLEET

THREE WAYS TO FLY THE JETRANGER

Configure the cabin to your mission.

Whether it’s an intimate couple’s flight, a family scenic, or a working aerial photography job — the JetRanger’s cabin layout adapts to the task at hand.

2 Passengers + 1 Pilot — Private & Proposal

Front seat up-front for one passenger, with the aft bench free for space, gear, or the full intimate experience. Ideal for proposals, anniversaries, and private sunset flights.

4 Passengers + 1 Pilot — Family & Group Scenic (best value)

Full cabin — one up front beside the pilot, three on the aft bench. The sweet-spot layout for families, two couples, or a small group sharing the scenic experience.

3 Crew + 1 Pilot — Aerial Photography

Doors-off or door-open configurations for cinematographers, photographers and survey teams. Room for camera operator, director, and a second crew member.

WHERE THE JETRANGER EARNS ITS KEEP

Missions made for four.

From bucket-list family scenics over Brisbane to professional aerial filming for Warner Bros. Movie World — the JetRanger has been V2’s workhorse across South East Queensland for years.

Parents, kids, grandparents — four seats to share the Brisbane CBD, the Story Bridge, the river and the bay. The smooth turbine ride is a win for nervous first-time flyers of any age.

Our JetRanger has flown for Warner Bros. Movie World, major media groups and commercial developers across Queensland. Stable, proven, and doors-off capable for professional work.

Two couples, one winery, one perfect day — the JetRanger carries four passengers out to a Granite Belt vineyard, a Scenic Rim hideaway or a coastal beach without missing a moment of the journey.

A director plus three clients, from Archerfield to a Sunshine Coast resort, a corporate retreat or a Queensland racecourse. Discreet, turbine-smooth, and priced for real-world charter budgets.

For pilots stepping up from piston — the JetRanger is one of the world’s most widely-flown turbine trainers. V2 offers type endorsements, flight reviews and ongoing currency flying on the 206.

Yes absolutely! We only hire our helicopters to students who have conducted training with us. That way we know our aircraft are in good hands.

WHY THE JETRANGER IS STILL IN OUR HANGAR

Proven. Smooth. Trusted since 1966.

There’s a reason Bell 206s have flown over seven thousand units in 130+ countries — and why the aircraft has stayed in our fleet year after year. It’s the helicopter pilots and passengers both reach for when reliability matters.

Six decades of continuous service

The JetRanger first flew in 1966 and has been refined continuously ever since. More than 7,300 have been built — making it one of the most-produced light turbine helicopters in history and a benchmark the whole industry measures against.

Turbine ride, turbine sound

Unlike piston aircraft, the 250-C20J turbine produces a near-vibration-free ride and that unmistakable turbine whine. First-time passengers consistently describe it as “smoother than a commercial flight.”

Built to keep flying

The JetRanger’s reputation for durability and low operating cost made it the aircraft of choice for exploration across the Canadian Arctic, Australian outback and 130+ other countries. It’s an aircraft built to keep showing up.

From scenic to cinema, all in one airframe

Our JetRanger swaps between family scenic, executive charter and professional aerial filming without missing a beat. It’s the flexible all-rounder that pays its own way across our operation.

Fits where bigger aircraft can’t

With a 10.16 m rotor diameter, the JetRanger can land at confined sites — private properties, small wineries, intimate wedding venues and tight resort helipads — that larger aircraft simply can’t access.

Turbine capability, realistic pricing

The JetRanger is how most people fly their first turbine. Our charter rates on the 206 sit comfortably below the H125 and Bell 429 — meaning you get the smooth-ride turbine experience without stepping up to top-end pricing.

“The Bell 206 has become the definitive turbine-powered light utility helicopter of the past six decades — and for good reason.”

— Industry consensus, every aviation publication of the last 50 years

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Everything you’d want to know before you fly.

Up to four passengers plus one pilot, for a total of five on board. The layout is two up front (pilot plus one passenger) with a three-seat bench in the back. If you need more than four passenger seats, our Airbus H125 or Bell 429 carries up to six.

There’s no fixed per-person limit, but the total combined passenger weight (along with fuel and baggage) must remain within the aircraft’s useful load and centre-of-gravity limits. We always confirm individual passenger weights at booking — a standard safety requirement across every helicopter in our fleet.

Two big ones. First, seating — the JetRanger carries four passengers to the R44’s three, which is the difference between bringing two kids versus one. Second, engine type — the R44 is piston-powered, the JetRanger is turbine-powered, which means a noticeably smoother ride, quieter cabin, and longer range. The trade-off is that JetRanger charter rates sit higher than R44 rates.

The H125 is our top-end single-engine helicopter, and it carries six passengers to the JetRanger’s four — plus more payload, higher altitude performance, and longer range. If your group has five or six people, or you need to carry heavy gear on a long sector, the H125 is the aircraft. For four passengers or fewer on a standard scenic or charter, the JetRanger is usually more cost-effective.

Yes — with the landowner’s permission and a suitable, safe landing area. The JetRanger’s 10.16 m rotor diameter is more compact than our H125 and Bell 429, which makes it a great fit for tight sites — small wineries, confined wedding venues, bushland properties, and hinterland escapes. We’ll always conduct a site assessment before confirming any new landing location.

Yes. V2 offers the Bell 206 type endorsement for pilots who already hold a PPL(H) or CPL(H). Most pilots stepping up from the Robinson R22 or R44 choose the JetRanger as their first turbine. Contact our flight training team for endorsement hours, pricing and scheduling.

Phone our team on (07) 3274 6666 or use our online enquiry form. Tell us your group size, preferred date, departure point, and the experience you have in mind — scenic, charter, wedding or aerial photography — and we’ll confirm aircraft availability and provide a fixed quote. The JetRanger is based at our hangar at 219 Qantas Avenue, Archerfield.

The Bell 206 has one of the strongest safety records in the light turbine class, built on more than sixty years of continuous production and refinement. Our JetRanger is maintained by our certified partner Heliedge Aviation to manufacturer standards, flown only by experienced V2 pilots, and operated under the same safety-first culture we’ve held since 2009: zero compromises.
